Website Updates

As you may or may not have noticed, TPUG’s website is now being served securely via https. If you do notice anything that is not coming in over https, please let me know.

Don’t forget that we’ve got phpBB-based forums as well. You can find them via the top navigation bar. I’ve recently enabled RSS syndication for the forums. Subscribe in your favourite RSS reader at https://old.tpug.ca/forums/feed.php. I realize that they are not terribly busy, but subscribing means that you won’t miss anything by forgetting to visit.

Jim Butterfield Tribute Day March 17 2018

Just a reminder to everyone that this Saturday, March 17, the Personal Computer Museum is hosting a special tribute to Jim Butterfield.

In attendance will be Vicki Butterfield (Jim’s wife). We are also hoping that Karl Hildon (Transactor) and Steve Punter (WordPro, Punter Protocol) will also be in attendance (neither are confirmed but both have indicated they will try to be there)    Come share your fondest memories of Jim, play with some of his computers, discover facts about him you didn’t know – and even get a chance to win a copy of his book “Machine Language for the Commodore 64 and other Commodore Computers” that was owned by Jim himself.

We have some of the neatest things like the famous “smoking jacket” that was pictured in the infamous “centrefold” in Transactor magazine. Get a unique chance to have your picture taken with this piece and much, much more.

COMAL Reference Guide

I came across the COMAL Reference Guide as I was browsing through an old TPUG Magazine issue. I had not realized that this book was an actual TPUG publication. So, for completeness purposes, you can find it on the Club Archives page. Thanks to DLH @ bombjack.
